pictures from our proposal
from the glass house...
Below is the blog from one of our two amazing photographers, Amy, from "The Glass House." She and her partner Brad were and amazing and did an incredible job helping me during the proposal by taking secret pictures for me! You can read all about it below:
"A couple days ago, Christopher messaged me on facebook and asked me what my schedule was like for Friday night. I told him that I was free and asked him why. He told me of a top secret plan and that he would need some memories captured in stealth. I told him that my business partner Brad and I would be available and would love to give this a go.I am not going to lie. The conditions were less than ideal. Brad hid in very tall grass (almost got attacked by a raging bull in the process of getting to his position) on the other side of Wilson's Creek struggling to find a position to get a good shot while staying hidden. I was in weeds, twigs and branches behind a tree.
Besides being a tad bit on the chilly side, The time of day was not the best for photos as it was twilight... VERY LITTLE LIGHT. If you know anything about photography, twilight can make for near impossible shooting especially when you are over 300mm away from the subjects, trying to remain hidden, and keep a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the action. I was under-exposed the whole time, except for once when I decided to see if I could break the rules and hold my hand steady enough. No such luck, but HEY, they are still memories, so if you can look past the Noise and the blur at times, the photos tell such a great love story between two very lovely people.
While the conditions were less than desireable for photographers, that didn't take away from the purpose of the whole evening. The proposal was beautiful. We didn't hear what was said between the two of them, which I think is good, because it was their moment, All I know is that she said YES! and that is all that matters. She had no clue. He set up a beautiful atmosphere of candles next to a beautiful stream surrounded by nature and two very sneaky photographers. He Blindfolded her and lead her to the location, carried her and set her down. He removed her blindfold and was down on one knee, where I am assuming he asked her the "big question"... after she gave him her answer he then proceeded to wash her feet. A beautiful act of servanthood and humility. They enjoyed each other's company, then he revealed the sneaky photographers, so I could get a few close up pictures with my fast lens enabling me to get some of the best shots of the night.
To Christopher and Lindsey, congratulations! I pray that God blesses you two greatly and that you only grow to love each other more and more each day. Thank you for allowing Brad and I to capture your beautiful evening. While the pictures of the event itself are not perfect the story they tell is. We are so happy for you!"
